Run Your First Scan and Read the Report
Every Searchlight scan returns an overall AI Readiness Score (0–100) and six category scores — Structured Data, Meta Tags, Content Clarity, Technical AIO, Sitemap, and Crawler Access. Here's how to run your first scan and what each section tells you.
Step-by-step: run a scan
- 1
Enter the URL
On the homepage or your Dashboard, paste the full URL (including https://) and press Analyze.
- 2
Wait for the analysis
Scans typically finish in 20–40 seconds. Searchlight fetches the page, parses HTML, validates structured data, and runs AI classification on the content.
Tip: If a site is behind anti-bot protection (Cloudflare, etc.), Searchlight automatically retries with a headless-browser fallback. - 3
Review the overall score
The big number at the top is your AI Readiness Score. It's a weighted average of six categories — the weights adapt based on the detected site type (e.g. e-commerce vs. blog).
How to read each category
Each category card shows a 0–100 score, a color (green ≥ 80, amber 60–79, red < 60), and findings. Green means present and well-implemented; red means missing or blocking. The Recommendations section below the scores is sorted by impact — fix the top items first.
What to do next
Pick one category to improve, follow the platform-specific guide (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, etc.) embedded in each recommendation, then re-scan to track the lift. Use the Score History chart on your Dashboard to monitor trends.
