Where to find benchmarks
Open any analysis report and scroll to the 'Compare Against Industry Benchmark' section. Free and Starter users see a teaser preview; Pro and Enterprise see live benchmark data with percentile rankings and a radar chart.
How to read the chart

Check the percentile
If you're in the 75th percentile, you're outperforming 75% of sites in your industry. The radar chart shows where you over- or under-perform vs. peers per category.

Identify the biggest gap
Look for the category where your score is furthest below the industry average — that's usually the highest-leverage area to improve.
Pro tip: Top-performer insights show what the 90th-percentile sites in your industry typically have implemented. Treat that list as a checklist.
Industry mapping
Searchlight auto-detects your industry from the analyzed content and site type. If the detected industry is wrong, it usually self-corrects after 2–3 scans of pages with clearer topic signals.
